The hotel room was spacious and convenient for us, located right by the pub which was a bit distracting with its bright sign all night. The outside access was a bonus as it saved us the hassle of stairs with a pushchair.

Rooms
7.0
The room was an excellent size and convenient for our needs. However, it was a bit cold and unclean, with hairs found in the bath and towels placed next to the toilet, which was not hygienic.
Service
9.0
The service was fantastic, with the staff totally focused on customer service. They were good-natured, responsive to requests or problems, and very apologetic when needed.
Location
8.0
The location was even better than expected, just off the A1, offering good food and a bar. However, the tired appearance of the dining area was a downside.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was a mix; the food and drinks were great and reasonably priced, but the prime steaks were disappointing and a bit greasy.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel offered immediate outside access, which was especially useful traveling with a dog.

Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were very basic and old-looking but surprisingly comfortable and spotless. The service was friendly and accommodating, although there were some issues with non-servicing of the room. The location was quiet and peaceful, perfect for a rural getaway. The dining was subpar with a disappointing breakfast experience. Overall, the hotel had its ups and downs but left me feeling rejuvenated and motivated to possibly return in the future.

The hotel is in need of refurbishment with old fittings in the bathroom, worn carpet, and a strange smell in the bathroom. However, the evening and breakfast service was attentive and lovely, except for a couple of instances where service was lacking. The rural location is ideal for visiting family in Gateshead with excellent motorway access, though lacking a television. Dining had a good selection but could improve; meanwhile, the beer garden added to the charm.

Rooms
5.0
The room was not as impressive as shown in pictures, with old fittings and worn carpet, but it was comfortable despite paint flaking off the ceiling and a strange smell from the drains.
Service
7.0
Service was attentive, especially from Vaughan and Catherine, though a lapse in service at the bar and during checkout.
Location
8.0
The rural location was ideal for family visits in Gateshead with excellent motorway connections, though lacked a television.
Dining
7.0
The dining had a good selection but room for improvement; however, the beer garden was a nice touch.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel facilities were basic but sufficient.
